Staff - Jouni Mantyla (joint ownership with Rodney and Amy Goble)
Born and raised in Finland, Jouni (pronounced Yoni) excelled as a swimmer, breaking Finnish records in the 100m and 200m backstroke in 1978 (the records would not be broken for another twelve years). He traveled with the Finnish Olympic athletes as Team Sports Massage/Physical Therapist from 1984-1993, earning his Physical Therapy degree in 1989. Since then, Jouni has continued to attend Physical Therapy classes to further his learning as much as he can about the field. He moved to the US in 1993, and opened the Hartland Location of Michigan Rehabilitation Specialists in 2003. Jouni's motto: "If it's not manual and physical, it's not therapy!"
Jouni and his wife, Anne, have two children. The Mantyla family received their United States Citizenship in 2006. Since moving to Hartland, Jouni has become involved with the Hartland Senior Center, teaching an exercise class once a week with Hartland's finest seniors, aptly named Jouni's Angels. He has also volunteered with the Hartland Swim Team, and is a consultant for Hartland High School Athletics.
