Staff: Bernie and Jen Ray (joint ownership with Rodney and Amy Goble)

Bernie and Jen Ray are both graduates of the Ohio University Master’s of Physical Therapy Program. Combined they have more than 20 years of clinical experience specializing in Sports Medicine and Outpatient Orthopedic Physical Therapy. Bernie and Jen are dedicated to their patients and provide hand’s on care. They believe strongly in tying together patient education, continuity of care, and good communication with the referring physician in order to reach treatment goals. They have lived in the Pinckney area for nine years, and are enthusiastic about serving their community with quality Physical Therapy services.

Bernie excelled as a swimmer for Miami University and has participated in multiple triathlons, marathons, and the coaching of youth programs. He completed his Master’s research in the Biomechanics of the Foot in Runners and presented his findings at the American Physical Therapy Association Combined Sections meeting in New Orleans, Louisiana. Bernie has also presented to numerous physicians and physical therapists on topics to include the rehabilitation of the shoulder, and jump training techniques for the prevention of injuries. Bernie has a specialized interest and expertise in the biomechanics of throwers, golfers, swimmers, and runners. He combines manual therapy with functional exercises to reach his treatment goals.

Jen, a former Eastern Michigan University track and field heptathlete, believes strongly in core stabilization and the Pilates Method to maintain good posture, strength and flexibility. After her track career at EMU, Jen spent one year as an assistant track coach for the co-ed University of Mississippi track team. Jen completed her Master’s research on the Activation of Deep Abdominal Muscles for the Treatment of Low Back Pain and presented her findings at the American Physical Therapy Association Combined Sections meeting in Seattle, Washington. She also has presented to numerous physicians and physical therapists on the rehabilitation of both the unstable ankle and shoulder. Jen holds a Certificate in Ergonomics for the management of work place injuries and has experience working directly with an Occupational Health Physician and team of practitioners. Jen believes strongly in patient education for the prevention of further injuries, and the promotion of life-long fitness strategies through participation in a Wellness Program.

Bernie and Jen have four young children and are active in the Pinckney Community Schools, and sporting events. They participate in and/or support the following organizations:
